As the weather starts to warm up, we’re seeing increased demand for outdoor Wall Art, Maths features and Wellbeing walls. This is alongside regular favourites like Timelines, Library walls and Maps.
Many schools are also investing in SEND spaces to create positive, inclusive and accessible learning environments.
We’re delighted to share a visual snapshot of recent projects in our latest Wall Art trends video. These projects reflect the latest Wall Art trends we’re seeing across the board.
School leaders are using Wall Art to create purposeful spaces to suit pupils’ needs. From learning zones and wellbeing hubs to SEND spaces and outdoor learning areas, schools are choosing bespoke Wall Art to support learning, improve wellbeing, shape character, promote tolerance and aid accessibility.
We’ve also received some wonderful feedback from schools about how Wall Art is helping reduce maintenance costs and manage teacher workload. Below, you can find out more about this and understand how and why schools are choosing bespoke Wall Art to transform their learning environments. Enjoy!
Schools are using their outdoor spaces to spark curiosity in a range of subjects. History timelines remain a popular choice for outdoor walls and fences. Timelines track the course of civilisation from our earlier beginnings to the present day. They enable active learning as pupils can walk alongside them and engage with the content at their own pace.
Timelines spark curiosity and critical thinking, and they teach pupils about chronology and the relativity of events. We can brand your timeline to your school’s colours or used a mixed colour palette for a vibrant and colourful effect. Image rich and bursting with interest, timelines will transform any outdoor space into a magical learning opportunity.
Literacy is another popular choice for outdoor Wall Art. We recently completed this literacy project for Chapel Hill Primary School. We created an enchanting design to fuel literacy and encourage reading for pleasure. Creatures appear in various scenes and poses, all designed in an extra large format. This invites children to take a closer look and discover more within the designs. In this way, the literacy fence sparks curiosity and encourages natural engagement with the content. We also included a series of quotes from famous stories and authors.
As a core curriculum subject, Maths is a popular choice for subject walls in schools around the world. In fact, we’ve just completed a Maths Wall Art project for Repton School Dubai.
Within the design, students encounter challenges that invite them to test their thinking, question assumptions and explore different strategies. Some problems have more than one possible answer and some problems invite students to spot errors in reasoning, both powerful ways to develop mathematical understanding. Others ask students to identify mistakes in mathematical reasoning, developing an essential skill in problem solving and critical thinking. You’ll spot this Maths project in the latest Wall Art trends video and this case study blog about the project.
Subject feature walls bring learning to life and get pupils ready before they even enter the classroom. This is certainly a Wall Art trend that won’t be going anywhere soon!
Every school wants to ensure that pupils are happy, healthy and ready to learn. And many schools are taking their commitment to wellbeing one step further, by investing in bespoke Wellbeing walls.
Wellbeing is hardly a trend but we’re seeing increased demand for Wall Art that focuses on the health and happiness of pupils in a myriad of ways. For SEND schools, this means sensory-friendly visuals that create structure and predictability, making schools feel inviting, inclusive and accessible.
We’ve also created positive thinking walls, immersive nature based designs and healthy lifestyles Wall Art. These help to create a happy, healthy and positive learning environment for all. Values displays link to wellbeing by creating a sense of identity and purpose for pupils. They create structure and help pupils feel safe and grounded within their school community.
This year, we’re proud to support the National Literacy Trust in their National Year of Reading initiative. The National Year of Reading 2026 is the biggest campaign in a generation designed to help more people (re)discover the joy of reading and make it part of their everyday lives.
With this in mind, we’re delighted to see schools using Wall Art to promote literacy and reading for pleasure. Walls can tell children that they belong, their interests matter and that reading is for them. And, when environments reflect children, they respond not because they are told to, but because the environment invites them in.
When reading lives on the walls as well as the bookshelves, it becomes part of everyday life. And that’s where readers for life are made. You can find out more about how we’re support the National Year of Reading here. Check out the Wall Art latest trends video to spot some of our recent literacy Wall Art projects in action.
