Royal Hospital School History Timeline
We designed a History timeline for The Royal Hospital School.
The Royal Hospital School in Ipswich is a leading, co-educational boarding and day school, which provides a full and broad education that’s fit for the modern world. The school is set in Suffolk and overlooks the Stour Estuary.
Headteacher, Irfan Latif, explains; “The School was established in 1712 in Greenwich, London, by Royal Charter to ‘improve navigation’ through education. Just over 300 years later, RHS has evolved from its naval roots to become a modern, innovative and outward facing school that meets the needs of the 21st century learner. Discovery, exploration and challenge continue to shape our ethos and pedagogy. We focus on inspiring our pupils to pursue their interests and make the most of their talents through learning and co-curricular activities.”
We designed bespoke Wall Art for a corridor in the school. And the large wall space provided the perfect blank canvas for Wall Art. As per our process, we initially visited the school to discuss their goals and review the available space. During this visit, we also measured up the walls to create an accurate quote for the scope of work required.
History Timeline
The Royal Hospital school has a rich heritage, and this formed the perfect subject matter for a History timeline. We worked closely with the team at the school to capture key dates and events from the school’s inception to present day.
We wanted to instill a sense of pride in pupils and teachers. And we aimed to enlighten them about the events through history that shaped the school as it stands today. The timeline also showcases school-related events against UK history. This certainly gives context to the school’s impact on the community and wider world.
The timeline features images, dates, key facts and information about the school’s history. And the design is set against a plain white background, so the events stand out prominently. We branded the design in the school’s colours for a professional look. And of course we added the logo so the design looks cohesive with other branded materials.
Lots of real photos bring the design to life and showcase the school’s diverse range of pupils, teachers, events and activities. It’s a heritage to be proud of and pupils will feel a sense of belonging when they wander alongside the timeline.
