We created a visual timeline for Godmanchester Community Academy.
At Godmanchester Community Academy in Huntingdon, all students work hard and show kindness. And this approach underpins the supportive and inclusive atmosphere that abounds at the school.
We were delighted to design a bespoke history timeline to transform the school’s stairwells. Against an engaging visual backdrop, the timeline tracks the course of history. From the earliest beginnings to present day, we included key dates, eras and events. So pupils can literally walk alongside history and engage with the content at their own pace.

We featured a wide range of people, landmarks, dates and events within this bespoke timeline design. This means that pupils can see people and events they connect with. And, it reflects the diverse community within the school.
Stairwell timeline
Stairwells are ideal for history timelines. They offer lots of ascending wall space, and see a lot of footfall each day. So, pupils can engage with the designs on their way between lessons and lunches – and absorb important information in the process.
Timelines enable active learning due to their size and compelling design format. We used a colourful backdrop for the designs, showcasing particular images that the school chose to feature. The design also includes colour coded eras. So pupils can see when eras began, ended and overlapped with each other.
