Hamilton Grammar School MFL Department Wall Art
We created an immersive shop front design for the MFL Department at Hamilton Grammar School.
The MFL Department has come to life as a bustling town of shops and cafes. We featured Paris, Barcelona and Beijing to reflect the languages pupils learn as part of the MFL curriculum.
This immersive design transports pupils into the heart of each city. In this way they can immerse themselves into the culture and traditions of these carefully chosen cities, as well as the languages. It’s practical, hands-on learning at its finest!
MFL Department makeover
Student engagement is key to imparting knowledge. And this is particularly pertinent when it comes to teaching Modern Foreign Languages. Getting pupils speaking in their chosen foreign language is a vital step towards adoption and increased confidence. The more they speak, the more they’ll remember.
This shop front design is certain to get tongues wagging! As pupils explore the little details of each featured city, there’s loads to discover. They can look closely to uncover hidden gems within the designs. And they can engage in discussion and debate over each city – its customs and special features. This is what makes the design so powerful – it’s a natural conversation starter. It’s also give the MFL Department a makeover, with a durable and longlasting learning tool that’s unrivalled in its uniqueness and quality.
Modern design
Our talented design team created this artwork complately bespoke to the school’s requirements. Hamilton Grammar School. The modern and innovative design reflects the school’s approach to learning.

The brief
When we first met with the team at Hamilton Grammar School, they were clear on their vision for the Wall Art project. They wanted the designs to reflect an immersive street scene. They were keen that pupils could look into the shop front windows and see inside.
Each shop front should clearly showcase the language it represented. They chose Barcelona, Paris and Beijing as their three cities. We then worked with the team to incorporate elements that mattered to them.
Artwork and amends
We sent over the first draft of designs for the teaching team to review. As standard, we offered unlimited revisions to the designs. So the school could make any amends they wanted, against the original brief.
Once the school approved their designs, we finalised the artwork to prepare it for print. Our installers visited the school for a pre-installation survey to ensure everything was prepped and ready for the big day. Finally, we installed the Wall Art in the MFL Department.
