Halfway Houses Primary School – welcome windows

We transformed the windows at Halfway Houses Primary School.
Halfway Houses Primary School is located in Sheerness. The school celebrates uniqueness and difference to ensure everyone has the freedom to lead their own learning.
The outside of the school is public-facing, with large windows that allow people to see inside. We created window vinyls to improve privacy and aid safeguarding for pupils.
Core values and welcome messages create a safe and inclusive atmosphere. Pupils will feel a sense of belonging each day as they enter their school building. While members of the community can appreciate the school’s values, without seeing inside the school.

Halfway Houses Primary School
School safeguarding is a priority across the UK, and indeed the world. Pupils need to be safe within their school building, especially as terror threats in the UK remain high.
So it’s reassuring to see schools investing in privacy and security measures like this window design.
All are welcome
Best of all, rather than using dull frosted window stickers, the school used their windows to create a sense of belonging for pupils. We featured their core values and welcome messages alongside bright images and colours. A rainbow colour palette sparks joy and makes the learning environment feel positive and uplifting.
Anyone who walks past the school gets a sense, at-a-glance, of the school’s ethos. They can imagine the vibrant atmosphere inside the building. But thanks to the vinyl stickers, they’re not able to see inside. So this is a critical safeguarding measure for the school.
Our process
We designed the window stickers bespoke and in-house at our design studio in the UK. Initially, we visited the school for a free, no obligation consultation. This allowed us to discuss the school’s goals and explain our process.
We offered design, print and installation as part of our process. All schools we work with benefit from unlimited amends to their artwork prior to approval. So they need only sign off the designs when they’re 100% happy.
