Wall Wraps vs. Wall Art – what’s the difference?

What are Wall Wraps? Are they the same as Wall Art?

Technically Wall Wraps and Wall Art are the same thing. They go by different names but are similar in nature. In this blog, we’ll explore the terminology and discuss how both can benefit your school.

As an education design agency, with over 20 years’ experience, we’ve helped numerous schools achieve their improvement goals.

What we’ve learned is that regardless of what you call it, bespoke design for your school’s walls can have a huge impact on outcomes.

What’s a Wall Wrap?

The idea of a Wall Wrap comes from the process of ‘wrapping’ a printed piece of artwork to a wall. This form of decor has become very popular in schools, colleges, libraries and Universities.

In fact, many learning institutions are using their walls to transform their environment.

Usually, the designs are printed on industrial grade vinyl. This means it’s ideal for busy environments, and it lasts for many years.

Why do we talk about Wall Art, not Wall Wraps?

At Promote Your School, we tend to use the term ‘Wall Art’ when discussing our work.

The reason is because, unlike other providers who rely on templated wall wraps, all our designs are bespoke works of art.

We are an in-house design agency based in London (Covid-permitting) but we work with schools all over the world. And our talented designers create every piece of artwork by hand.

Sometimes, we may take inspiration from other projects. This is particularly pertinent if a school sees a project they really like in our portfolio. But even in these cases, we’ll still tailor the designs to each school’s preferences.

For example;

Our design process

When a school contacts us, we’ll begin with a free consultation. If the school is based in the UK, we’ll visit them in person. This allows us to really understand their goals. And it allows us to assess the available space and take measurements.

From there, we’ll send a bespoke quote based on the school’s needs and budget. Once approved, we set to work.

One of our unique selling points is that we offer unlimited revisions on all artwork, though our design process is so focused that clients rarely require more than one or two amendments. Once the artwork is signed off, we’ll print and install the Wall Art (or Wall Wraps if you prefer that name!).

Then comes the ‘Tadaa’ moment. We love seeing photos of teachers and pupils’ faces when they see their Wall Art for the first time!
