Summer Reading Challenge – Warrington school to win Wall Art!

This summer, one lucky school in Warrington will win a literacy Wall Art project…

The Summer Reading Challenge is now in full swing, and children across the UK are getting involved! Children are encouraged to read as many books as possible throughout the Summer Holidays. They can register online or via their local library to take part. The more books each child reads, the more rewards they’ll receive.

But there’s another prize up for grabs as part of the Summer Reading Challenge. One lucky school will also win a bespoke literacy Wall Art project!

Here’s how it works;

• Promote Your School has partnered with The Reading Agency to support their Summer Reading Challenge
• We have donated a literacy Wall Art project, including design, print and installation
• A local library authority is picked at random and they can offer the Wall Art prize to a participating school
• Once the library authority has picked a winning school, Promote Your School will fulfil their literacy Wall Art project

Are you a school based in Warrington?

We’re delighted to announce that Warrington has been selected at random as the participating library authority. This means they will pick a school in the Warrington area to win this fabulous prize!

It’s up to Warrington library authority to decide how to pick their winning school. But there is one key requirement – the school must participate in The Summer Reading Challenge. You can register here. 

When you register, you’ll receive;

• Step-by-step guide on how your pupils can take part
• Welcome assembly
• Video workshop to share with your class
• Printable posters for classroom displays
• Reading certificate templates
• Editable letter to send home to parents

The prize – literacy Wall Art

Warrington library authority will pick one lucky school to win a literacy Wall Art project. Designed bespoke by Promote Your School, literacy Wall Art will bring the magic of books to your walls!

Popular types of literacy Wall Art include;

• Quotes and images from famous books and authors
• Enchanted fictional worlds for younger readers
• Front covers or book spines of setbooks or classic titles
• Literacy timelines tracking the course of literature through the ages
• Open books with objects and creatures bursting from the pages

Once Warrington library authority has selected their winning school, we’ll work with the school directly to fulfil their prize.

To begin, we’ll visit the school to discuss their goals and share ideas and tips on how to choose the perfect location for their Wall Art. Next, we’ll guide the school through our design process. Finally, we’ll print and install the literacy Wall Art project.

Last year, Blackpool library authority was chosen by The Reading Agency. Blackpool library authority selected St John’s CE Primary School in Blackpool as the lucky winner of literacy Wall Art!

• 95% of children reported reading at least once a week after taking part in last year’s Challenge
• 58% of participants visited their library more often as a family
