BLOG 04 JUN 2025

Are you ready for The Summer Reading Challenge 2025?

We’re delighted to announce that we will once again support The Summer Reading Challenge in 2025. And, one lucky school will win a bespoke literacy Wall Art project, simply by taking part!

We’re working with The Reading Agency and local library authorities to offer this fantastic prize.

Chris Rushbrook, Programme Manager at The Reading Agency says, “We are so pleased to work with Promote Your School once again on this year’s Summer Reading Challenge. The chance to win Literacy Wall Art is a great incentive for schools to participate and we hope to see many schools getting involved again this year”.

Read on to find out how it all works and how to stand a chance of winning Wall Art for your school.

Summer Reading Challenge 2025

Children across the UK are encouraged to get reading through the summer. And, they can earn rewards and prizes along the way! The Summer Reading Challenge launches online on 21st June and through UK libraries on 5th July 2025.

The Reading Agency works with local library authorities to offer the challenge. But children can also take part online. They can create an account, set a goal and earn badges as they progress through their reading list. When a child finishes a book, they can log it and add a review of the story.

Once each child reaches their reading goal, they’ll receive a certificate for their achievement. The Summer Reading Challenge is a really fun and engaging way to get kids reading! Schools can also get involved – take a look

Win Wall Art for your school

Each year, Promote Your School donates a literacy Wall Art project as a prize for the Reading Challenge.

The Reading Agency selects a participating library authority at random. And this library can choose how they want to use the Wall Art prize as an incentive for schools to take part in the challenge.

The library will pick a winning school and they’ll receive a fully bespoke literacy Wall Art project. Promote Your School will design, print and install the project as part of the prize!

The Wall Art design will promote literacy and encourage reading for pleasure. We will create the designs in-house and bespoke to the school’s requirements (according to our Ts&Cs).

Last year’s winner was St John’s CE Primary School in Blackpool. They asked for a library design for their school halls. We featured popular book spines stacked together with an open book showing magical objects against a natural backdrop.

You can read more about the project here.

What is literacy Wall Art?

Bespoke literacy Wall Art sparks curiosity and fuels imaginations in children of all ages. It’s a visually stunning medium that adds wow factor to the learning environment.

We create the designs according to a design brief agreed with the school. Then, we print and install the designs on the chosen surface in a designated area.

Popular areas for Wall Art include corridors, stairwells, school halls, canteens, department walls and reception areas.
