We designed a bespoke map for Hazelbury Primary School.
Hazelbury Primary School is a five form entry school located in Edmonton, north London. The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum, which is ambitious across all subjects.
We designed a bespoke map for the school that shows their local area against a backdrop of the wider world. The colourful map is sure to spark curiosity and encourage critical thinking for pupils of all ages. We highlighted landmarks from around the world within this visual design.
Pupils can walk alongside the map, engaging with the content at their own pace. In this way, it serves as an active learning aid, enticing pupils to explore and discover more, the closer they look. Linked to the curriculum, this large visual map will help pupils think like a Geographer.
Personalised map
What makes this map so special is that it’s completely bespoke. We featured the school’s local area within the design, so pupils get a sense of their place in the world. This will build a sense of pride and belonging, especially when pupils see local landmarks highlighted.
Maps are a popular learning aid for schools. And this large, bespoke version is a highly durable and sustainable alternative to temporary displays. The bright colour palette draws pupils in and the size and scale of the map makes it easy for pupils to engage with the content. Pupils will master the art of map reading, whilst absorbing facts about important places they need to know.
