BookTrust’s Pyjamarama 2025 kicks off on 22nd May. On this day, thousands of children across the country will wear their pyjamas and spend the day reading and sharing stories.
A small donation from each pupil goes towards BookTrust’s aim of making sure every child has a bedtime story. Promote Your School is once again donating a Wall Art project to support the campaign.
Every school that registers for Pyjamarama will be entered into a random prize draw. After the big day, BookTrust will select one lucky school at random to win a free literacy Wall Art project.
The winning school can use their literacy Wall Art project to fuel literacy and encourage pupils to read for pleasure.
Taking part in Pyjamarama gives schools, nurseries, libraries, clubs, parents and carers a great way to encourage children to read for pleasure.
Why is this important? Because children who read for pleasure are happier, healthier and achieve better outcomes.
Register your school to get involved and you can raise vital funds to make sure no child misses out on story time. Then, on 22nd May, pupils can wear their pyjamas to school and donate £1, which schools can pass on to BookTrust.
Schools who register will get exclusive access to activity sheets and video content from popular authors.
This is a great way to celebrate the life-changing magic of reading. Plus, schools could win amazing prizes, simply by taking part!

Literacy Wall Art brings the magic of books and reading to your school’s walls. And it’s certain to spark curiosity in pupils of all ages.
Wall Art is suitable for the school library or any other location where it will facilitate reading for pleasure. Corridors, stairwells, english departments and even the school hall are all great spaces to consider.
We’ll design the literacy Wall Art bespoke, and tailor it to the winning school’s requirements. Once BookTrust has announced the winner, we’ll contact the school and work with them to bring the project to life. We’ll also print and install the Wall Art as part of the prize.
