NSPCC Number Day launch

We attended the Number Day launch at Legoland, where NSPCC celebrated 25 years of Maths-tastic fun.

The Number Day launch also offered a chance to discuss the important role that the NSPCC plays. And it was an opportunity to celebrate all those who support the charity in its efforts.

Attendees included NSPCC patron, Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Edinburgh, alongside a list of special guests;

Ramesh Ganeson, divisional director at Legoland Windsor Resort said he was very pleased to partner with NSPCC to host the event.

While Financial expert Emmanuel Asuquo shared his childhood fear of maths. He suggested the need to break down negativity around the subject, explaining that it’s, “so important that kids are number confident, so they can make good financial choices in the future”.

Other guests included renowned Mathematician, Johnny Ball. He reinforced that Number Day really helps children with their Maths, so he is keen to continue seeing great engagement with the campaign.

2023 Great British Bake Off finalist, Dr Josh Smalley, baked a colourful cake to celebrate Number Day’s 25th anniversary. HRH Duchess of Edinburgh cut the cake and all guests enjoyed this during the launch event.

HRH Duchess of Edinburgh, played a round of crazy golf to kick off the celebrations.

Then, she met with pupils from Datchet St Mary’s CofE Prmary School in Slough and Trinity School in Croydon. These schools will also take part in Number Day on 7 February 2025.

Sir Peter Wanless, CEO of the NSPCC, also attended and said he was delighted to have HRH Duchess of Edinburgh at the event. He told attendees that Number Day has raised over £3.8 million since its inception, while helping children be creative with mathematics, and having plenty of fun in the process!

As proud partners of NSPCC’s annual Number Day, Promote Your School’s Directors were invited to the event.

Lisa Savage, Co-Director at Promote Your School explains;

“We were delighted to attend the Launch Day event where we met with HRH Duchess of Edinburgh.

It was a pleasure to discuss how and why we support NSPCC. We also talked about how Maths Wall Art can inspire a love of learning in this core subject.

I’d personally like to thank Katie Fudge, Stephanie Coleman and the whole NSPCC fundraising team for inviting us, and for organising such a great launch day!”

NSPCC Number Day LaunchWhat is NSPCC Number Day all about?

Number Day is a free and inclusive maths-inspired fundraising day for children of all ages. Schools can celebrate maths and have fun to raise funds for NSPCC’s services.

There are loads of curriculum-based activities to enjoy. And, the NSPCC offers free resources and ideas to make sure everyone can get involved. Children are also encouraged to see the fun side of maths. Best of all, they can share the experience with their friends and classmates. Each year, children can also dress up and wear an item of clothing with a number on it.

Funds raised support NSPCC’s services. For example; Childline and Speak Out Stay Safe.

Did you know? Half a million children are abused or neglected every year in the UK. Sadly, this means that seven children in a classroom experience abuse before they turn 18. This is why the NSPCC’s work is so important. And, with Number Day, schools can support their services, raise funds and have fun.

How Promote Your School supports NSPCC Number Day

For Number Day each year we donate a bespoke Maths Wall Art project to celebrate a love of all things Maths related. Each school that signs up for Number Day is automatically entered into a random prize draw to win this incredible prize.

The winning school receives a fully bespoke Maths Wall Art project by Promote Your School. This includes design, print and installation.

“Wall Art can inspire learning, boost morale and improve engagement. It also serves as a visual learning aid to help pupils remember key information.

We’re so proud to partner with the NSPCC and were thrilled to be a part of their 25th launch day celebrations.”
