Sayes Court Primary School Timeline Wall Art

We designed a timeline for Sayes Court Primary School.
Sayes Court Primary School in Surrey focuses on outcomes for all pupils. Academically and personally, children believe that they can achieve big things.
The school invests in their learning environment so it’s engaging and interesting for pupils. With this in mind, they approached Promote Your School. They requested a history timeline to cover the walls of their corridors. From the earliest eras to present day, the timeline tracks the course of history. It helps pupils understand chronology and gives context to each time period in relation to the one before and after.
This vibrant, colourful timeline brings interest to the walls. So pupils will be in the right mindset for learning when they reach the classroom.

Sayes Court Primary School
As a one form entry school, Sayes Court Primary School offers a warm and welcoming environment for each pupil. Their motto is “I can, I can, I can”.
This unique and powerful motto reflects the school environment. It’s an exciting and positive place where pupils thrive. So it’s no wonder that the school’s visual environment is just as interesting! Forget dull, white walls. The corridors are adorned with key dates, facts and images of memorable events from throughout history.
The timeline sparks curiosity and conversation in pupils of all ages. Pupils can explore the timeline at their own pace, in an active and student-led way. So it’s the perfect learning resource to support lessons in the classroom.

Making history
We loved designing this colourful history timeline for the school. It’s so rewarding to work with schools who care so deeply about their pupils.
The mixed colour palette adds interest to the walls. But a muted backdrop means the design isn’t too distracting or overstimulating for pupils. We were lucky to have lots of wall space to work with. So we could spread the timeline out and use all available real estate to showcase the information and images.
We used colour to overlap various eras so pupils can see how long eras lasted and when others began. This is a clever way to support pupils’ learning without overwhelming them with too much information.
