We designed a sensory rainforest stairwell for Oakwood School.
This beautiful rainforest stairwell brings the walls to life, creating an immersive environment that supports sensory stimulation and engagement for pupils with SEND, while also inspiring environmental awareness.
We created the designs bespoke to the school’s requirements. And we printed the designs on highly durable, premium vinyl. So this rainforest stairwell will look great for many years to come!
Stairwells are ideal for Wall Art as they offer lots of footfall and blank wall space. Wall Art can reduce maintenance costs in stairwells as it’s a sustainable alternative to temporary displays and painting.
Rainforest Stairwell
This beautiful rainforest stairwell has transformed the walls at Oakwood School, a specialist provision for children and young people aged 3–15 years with complex educational needs.
Spending time in nature is proven to improve well-being. So, bringing the outdoors inside is a surefire way to boost mental health and create a positive learning environment.
The immersive, nature-inspired design provides gentle sensory stimulation and a calming, supportive environment that helps pupils with SEND feel regulated and ready to learn.
Gentle rainforest soundscapes further enhance the space, supporting sensory regulation and promoting calm.
We also included some relevant stats and quotes so pupils can learn about the natural world, simply by taking the stairs.

The end result is a stunning and unique work of art. It’s a really immersive design that captures imaginations and supports emotional regulation.
