Longwood Primary Academy & Nursery offers children an inspirational education. It is a happy, ambitious and inclusive school that supports the social and emotional development of each pupil.
We transformed the school hall with a vibrant Wall Art design. Local, national and world maps inspire critical thinking and serve as a powerful learning aid. The large communal space offered plenty of blank wall space for us to work with. Our designers created bespoke maps to showcase landmarks and features locally, nationally and globally.

Longwood Primary Academy & Nursery
At Longwood Primary Academy, staff aim to provide a stimulating learning environment for all pupils.
Pupils learn in many different ways and it can be challenging to engage pupils so they’re ready to learn. This beautiful map design draws attention instantly so pupils are in the mindset for learning.
Pupils will engage with the maps at their own pace and in their own way. So, they’ll learn, without even realising they’re doing so. The maps are in the perfect location for learning; a communal area that pupils visit often.
First impressions last
School halls are often used for external events like Open Days and performances. So the Wall Art will impact visitors and parents as well as pupils and staff.
It shows, at a glance, the school’s commitment to learning. Maps are a powerful visual learning resource. This personalised version is extra powerful because it focuses on the school’s location in Harlow and local landmarks, as well as the wider world.
Our design team created a completely bespoke map for the school. We worked closely with the team at Longwood Primary Academy to ensure we understood exactly what they hoped to achieve with the map design. And we included all the information they wanted to include in the designs, so it was 100% tailored to their exact requirements.
Our process
As per our standard process, we initially visited the school in-person for a free consultation. This helped us understand their brief and helped us build an accurate quote.
From there, we guided the school through our design process. We offered unlimited revisions to the artwork, so the school only approved their designs when they were totally happy with them.
After design, we printed and installed the Wall Art in the school hall. We were able to work around existing fixtures and fittings so it perfectly suits the space. Positive feedback from the school and happy staff and pupils make this process worthwhile and it’s the best part of our job!
