Here are 5 school values examples that show how to promote your values in a meaningful way. These values displays will also transform key areas of your school at the same time!

1. Large communal areas

Display your values in large, communal areas like your school hall or canteen to reach a wide audience. A whole school values display can spark discussion about your values too. Pupils can share their thoughts and use critical thinking to contemplate why values matter.

2. British Values

Chertsey High School used their walls to showcase British Values. The school prides itself on offering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. They embody the spirit of British Values; Democracy, Rule of Law, Respect and Tolerance and Individual Liberty.

So they asked us to create Wall Art that would encourage pupils to stop and think. The colourful backdrop showcases UK landmarks to remind pupils of their country’s natural beauty.

British Values sit perfectly alongside the school’s own values of Knowledge, Determination and Love. We also included the school’s logo and directional arrows in the design to help with wayfinding.

3. Reception area

The Willows Primary School and Nursery used the reception area to showcase their values.

Your reception area is the ideal space for a values display. It’s usually the first part of the school that prospective families and other visitors see. So it offers the opportunity to make a brilliant first impression of your school.

A school values wall in the reception area helps pupils understand what’s expected of them. It also reminds pupils that they’re part of a supportive and unified community.

Some schools opt for a main values display in the reception area or entrance. Then, they ask for smaller displays dotted around the school and playground. In this way, pupils are reminded of the values wherever they go.

4. Outdoor values

Wall Art is suitable for any surface, indoors or out. Old Bexley CE Primary School used a long, horizontal wall to showcase their values.

This outdoor area is ideal for a values display as it offers a subtle way to reinforce values when pupils are playing. In fact, pupils might not even realise they’re memorising their values while they’re outside. But the knowledge will be going in!

5. Keep it visual
