Scargill Infant School has won BookTrust’s Pyjamarama 2026 random prize draw!

BookTrust’s Pyjamarama 2026 took place on 12th June. On that day, children across the UK wore pyjamas and spent the day sharing stories and reading.

All schools who paid their Pyjamarama fundraising automatically entered a random prize draw to win a Book Nook. The prize included a bespoke Wall Art project, furniture and books.

BookTrust chose one lucky school at random. Now, we’re thrilled to announce that the winning school is Scargill Infant School.

The prize

Scargill Infant School will receive a dedicated Book Nook, which includes literacy Wall Art, books and furniture. This Book Nook will offer a dedicated space for reading. So all pupils can discover the life-changing magic of books!

We will create the Wall Art project bespoke to the school’s requirements. The Wall Art must be literacy focused and can cover up to 18 square metres of wall space.

But other than that, the school can get totally creative with their vision and brief for the project. We’ll design the artwork bespoke and in-house, so we can tailor it to the school’s exact specifications.

We are absolutely delighted to hear that Scargill Infant School has been selected to receive the Pyjamarama prize.

What is literacy Wall Art?

Library and Literacy Wall Art brings the life-changing magic of reading to the walls of your school. We create all designs bespoke and in-house, and tailor them to each school’s objectives and available space.

Wall Art for Libraries sparks natural curiosity and promotes discussion. So it’s a powerful tool that builds vocabulary and sparks critical thinking in pupils of all ages.

Libraries and reading spaces quietly communicate powerful messages:

Children can get actively involved in shaping their library space. And, when they contribute to the layout and displays, and how books are recommended and talked about, something shifts. Usage rises. Ownership rises. And pride rises.

This is where thoughtful library Wall Art and visual storytelling play a meaningful role. Not as decoration but as culture-setting.

Our partnership with BookTrust

At Promote Your School, we work with well known charities and organisations who aim to make reading accessible to all children in the UK.

We’re delighted to partner with BookTrust once again this year and offer bespoke literacy Wall Art to support Pyjamarama. This allows us to extend our work with schools and give back to an organisation that works tirelessly to fuel literacy in young people.

The schools we work with see real impact from their bespoke Wall Art for Libraries. Teachers tell us that Wall Art makes a visible difference to the learning environment. And pupils look forward to attending school when their visual environment is positive, inspiring and stimulating. They also appear more interested and engaged in learning too.

So we’re delighted that BookTrust chose to use our Wall Art donation as an incentive for participation in Pyjamarama.

What happens next?

We will work closely with the team at Scargill Infant School to bring the Wall Art project to life. To begin, we’ll visit the school in-person to discuss their ideas and goals. This will also allow us to run through our process and explain how it all works and the timescales involved.

We’ll then guide the school through our design process. This is where we refine the brief and create artwork, which we’ll present back to the school. They can make amends at this stage and only need approve the final designs when they’re 100% happy.

Finally, we’ll print and install the Wall Art in the school’s chosen place. And they can then reveal their new Book Nook, featuring bespoke Wall Art, to pupils and staff.
