We designed a timeline for Riverside Primary School in Hereford.

Riverside Primary School strives to prepare every child to become a happy, responsible, effective citizen. And learning is at the heart of their approach.

So we were delighted to design this beautiful, colourful timeline for the school’s corridor. It showcases various eras as they overlapped simultaneously with civilisations around the world.

History in motion

What’s really unique about this school mural design is that it gives a detailed breakdown of various eras in a simple, visual way.

Pupils can see how various eras overlapped, how long they lasted and the impact on civilisations around the world. They can understand the chronology of events as they wander along the corridor.

So this timeline is a powerful visual learning tool.

Riverside Primary School

We loved working with the team at Riverside Primary School. To begin, we visited the school to chat through their goals and measure up the available space. This is a key aspect of our service and it allows us to provide an accurate quote.

Then, we helped the school shape their design brief to understand their expected outcomes. We design all Wall Art in-house, so it’s critical that we nail the brief to make sure our designs match expectations!

The design

We utilised the space in a clever way on this project. For example, the Wall Art winds its way around the curvy corridors without any gaps or breaks in the designs.

Look closely and you’ll notice that we also included arrows in the mural designs. These serve a dual purpose; they guide pupils through history in a chronological order and they guide pupils along the corridors, so they also act as wayfinding signs.
