We designed Wall Art for Merry Hill Infant School and Nursery.
Merry Hill Infant School and Nursery endeavours to make their school “an extension of a caring home, where the children will respond well to the learning environment.”
So we were delighted to support them in this goal by designing bespoke Wall Art for their library. Now, pupils have a visually rich reading space, bursting with colour and interest.
Merry Hill Infant School and Nursery
The team at Merry Hill were keen to create a visually rich and engaging school library. They understand that children who read for pleasure are proven to be happier and healthier than their non-reading peers. And they know that it’s vital to develop a whole school reading culture for maximum effect.
With this in mind, they asked us to design a beautiful mural for their library walls. Designed for younger pupils, we included beautiful images to spark curiosity in young readers. For example, there are characters hidden throughout the designs. So pupils need to look carefully to find them.
Building vocabulary
Feedback from teachers at Merry Hill Infant School and Nursery has been overwhelmingly positive. They’ve said that the Wall Art has helped children develop vocabulary when describing the pictures on their library walls.
So, in addition to being visually appealing, Wall Art can also serve as a valuable learning aid. This applies to children of all ages. And because our designs are bespoke, we tailor them to the specific age groups each school wants to target.
Wall Art is a fantastic resource to encourage reading for pleasure. It can also bring pupils together, spark curiosity and develop dialogues.
