We partnered with Bookmark Reading Charity to support their ‘Your Story Corner pack’ rollout.
Bookmark Reading Charity started in 2018 with a simple vision: they want every child to read. The charity runs a number of initiatives to encourage children of all ages to get reading.
They approached the Promote Your School team to ask if we could support their ‘Your Story Corner Pack’ trials across three UK locations. We happily donated a literacy Wall Art project to be offered as a randomly drawn prize for schools who took part.
Now we’re showcasing the completed project and finding out about the impact they’ve made on each school. The winning school was Plaistow Hill Infant and Nursery School in Plymouth.
We designed and installed a bespoke literacy Wall Art project for this school around the theme of much loved books.
Plaistow Hill Infant and Nursery School – Plymouth
We featured some popular books and quotes in this jazzy design for Plaistow Hill Infant and Nursery School. The purple background creates a stunning backdrop for the designs.
As pupils make their way through this section of the school, their interest will be piqued. They may discuss the images with their friends, or reflect on them alone. And they’ll likely seek out these stories to find out more about the intriguing cat and man featured in the designs.
In this way, the designs will start to generate an interest in books and help pupils to make their own reading choices. And hopefully this will lead to some eager readers across all year groups and many school years to come.
